allo- Präfixoid "fremd, anders" per. Wortschatz fach. (-) Beschreibung von Affixen. Dient in neoklassischen Bildungen als Vorderglied komponierter Adjektive und Substantive und bedeutet dabei "anders" (z.B. Allogamie "Fremdbestäubung" zu allogam im Gegensatz zu autogam "selbstbestäubend"; analog zu monogam, Monogamie "Einehe"). Nachbildung griechischer Komposita mit gr. állo- "anders-, fremd-" (zu gr. állos "anderer") ohne konkretes Vorbild in Entlehnungen aus dem Griechischen. In der linguistischen Fachsprache zur Bezeichnung von Varianten verwendet (Allophon als Variante eines Phonems, zuerst bei B. L. Whorf 1934 und Bloch/Trager, dann analogisch ausgeweitet bei A. Nida 1946: Allomorph als Variante eines Morphems usw.). S. auch Allegorie, Allotria.
